Kate Hudson and Owen Wilson have reportedly got engaged less than three months after their reconciliation.

Kate was spotted wearing a new diamond solitaire ring outside a Boston restaurant this week and a source told the News of the World that the couple are planning to marry in a private but lavish ceremony next year.

The source explained that even though the couple were on a break when Owen tried to kill himself late last summer: “Kate supported Owen during his low patch and that proved to him she’s the woman he wants to be with for ever.

“He picked out the ring and went for the biggest one he could find. He was nervous about proposing but Kate was thrilled and the whole thing was really emotional.

“The engagement is a natural step forward for them both and Kate’s ecstatic.”

Kate was previously married to Black Crowes frontman Chris Robinson and the couple had a son together, four year old Ryder. Their relationship ended in the summer of 2006 shortly after Kate and Owen met on the set of You, Me & Dupree.

Liv Tyler is in good form despite the end of her marriage according to her dad Steven Tyler.

The Aerosmith frontman told US Weekly: “Liv is doing great.”

Earlier this week, Liv’s spokesperson confirmed the rumours that her marriage to Royston Langdon was over.

Liv had previously been overheard complaining that her musician husban was being a “leech” on her assets and that she had “got married too young”.

The couple have a three year old son together, Milo.

Sienna Miller and Rhys Ifans have reportedly hit their “first serious rough patch” after a year of dating.

Sources close to the couple, who got engaged earlier in the year, believe the problems have been caused by their busy work schedules forcing them to spend a considerable amount of time apart.

A friend told the Daily Mail: “It has been very strained and things are very sensitive at the moment.

“They are not over, but Sienna has made some tearful long-distance calls to Rhys and has confided to some of the cast on her movie that things aren’t great.”

Sienna is currently filming GI Joe in Los Angeles while Rhys is working on Radio Caroline in Southampton and the source added that Rhys is also jealous of Sienna spending time with male friends in LA: “Rhys can be quite jealous and he doesn’t like Sienna hanging out with other guys.

“She also had lunch with Matthew Rhys in LA in March. They used to date and Rhys is very insecure about him. He wasn’t happy they’d met up.”

After all the controversy surrounding her recent Vanity Fair photo shoot, Hugh Hefner has offered Miley Cyrus the chance to pose for Playboy - when the 15 year old turns 18.

Hugh told Extra recently: “Sure, she’d be welcomed in the magazine. [She’s a] very pretty lady.”

He added regarding the Vanity Fair pictures: “I think to make such a big to-do over something as innocent as those photos, I think is a reflection on how schizophrenic America is about sexuality.”

Britney Spears‘ aunt has said the singer is definitely on back on track these days and her family are delighted at the progress.

Under dad Jamie Spears’ supervision over the past three months, Britney is said to have gone from strength to strength after accepting medical help following a brief hospitalisation at the start of February.

Her aunt Chanda McGovern said before the conservatorship was put in place at the start of February: “We didn’t know if she’d make it through the next day and we’re all very proud of her now.

“This time last year everyone was in turmoil.

“I hope she’ll never walk down that path again and I think she’s got a bright future.”

She added that she believes a lot of Britney’s problems stem from the fact she’s “very headstrong and doesn’t like being told what to do” but now is a lot more willing to accept help.

Britney’s second cameo on How I Met Your Mother is scheduled to air in the US this week.

Sophie Dahl and Jamie Cullum are reportely planning to get engaged.

A source close to supermodel Sophie told the News of the World recently: “Jamie asked her what she’d think if he proposed and Sophie hinted that she’d probably say yes.”

The source added that Sophie is besotted with her musician boyfriend of a year because of his constant little romantic gestures: “He leaves notes and poems around the house and even in her favourite Louboutin heels.”
