Fametastic is the hottest UK celebrity gossip site on the web, featuring news about entertainment and celebrities from the UK and beyond.

Unlike many celebrity gossip sites, it is updated frequently throughout the day, every day.

Visitors can post comments on every single article posted, reply to other comments and join other members of the Fametastic community for further discussion in the forum.

Fametastic stories have received wide media attention, with links from the Washington Post (United States), AOL’s TMZ (United States), USA Today (United States), Gawker (United States), New York magazine (United States), Perez Hilton (United States), BBC America (United States), Daily Rotten (United States), ABC (Australia) and The Age (Australia) websites, as well as front page coverage on the Huffington Post (United States) and on VH1’s Best Week Ever (United States). It is also frequently linked from news aggregators such as Google News, Fark.com and Lipstick.com. We have also provided commentary on celebrity matters for the Channel 4 (UK) daily podcast: if you are interested in us providing written, audio or video commentary for your media organisation, please contact us using the email address below.

One place for news

The site was launched in January 2006 after a short pilot run in the summer of 2005.

It was the brainchild of three gossip-hounds (Heather, Lucy and Catrina) and came about after one night in a bar, when they voiced their collective annoyance at having to spend hours trawling the net to fulfil their gossip needs.

Unable to find a site that reported all the celebrity gossip worth knowing - including UK as well as US news - the trio decided to launch their own.

And less than a fortnight later, Fametastic was born.

The site is now run by Heather and Lucy, with occasional “red carpet commentaries” by Catrina.

The site was relaunched in December 2006, to introduce a new design and lots of new features such as the forum, polls and celebrity profiles.
