About the site
Fametastic was the hottest UK celebrity gossip site on the web, featuring news about entertainment and celebrities from the UK and beyond.
Unlike many celebrity gossip sites, it was updated frequently throughout the day, every day.
Visitors can post comments on every single article posted, reply to other comments and join other members of the Fametastic community for further discussion in the forum.
One place for news
The site was launched in January 2006 after a short pilot run in the summer of 2005.
It was the brainchild of three gossip-hounds (Heather, Lucy and Catrina) and came about after one night in a bar, when they voiced their collective annoyance at having to spend hours trawling the net to fulfil their gossip needs.
Unable to find a site that reported all the celebrity gossip worth knowing - including UK as well as US news - the trio decided to launch their own. And less than a fortnight later, Fametastic was born.
The site was relaunched in December 2006, to introduce a new design and lots of new features such as the forum, polls and celebrity profiles. It is now primarily run by Lucy, with occasional “red carpet commentaries” by Catrina and news coverage by Heather.
