Commenting on the site

Anyone can comment on any article on the site: just fill in the comment boxes at the bottom of each news story (if you’re reading the news on the front page, you have to click onto the article itself to comment: click the headline or the reference to comments at the bottom of the story).

To comment, you need to fill in a name and an email address. We’re very nice people at Fametastic and will never to anything we shouldn’t with your details: we won’t sell them to spammers and the like, and we won’t spam you ourselves. If you’ve got a website of your own, you can include that in the relevant box too.

Once you’ve written your comment, just click the big “Submit Comment” button to do as it says.

If your comment doesn’t appear on the site immediately, it means that it has been put in the comment moderation queue. We mostly censor comments that are spam so if it’s a real comment, we’ll approve it as soon as we get a chance (usually within an hour during the day). Very occasionally we also delete comments that are likely to cause offence because they are racist, sexist, or homophobic - or because they are abusing or attacking other members of the Fametastic community. We do not censor for any other reason.

If you post a lot of comments, you might want to sign up for an account with the site to save having to type in your details each time. Click the “Register” link on the left-hand side bar to choose a username then your password will be emailed out to you. You can use this same account for commenting on both the site and the forum. If you ever want your account removed from the site, just give us a holler and we’ll do it for you.


Using the Forum

The Fametastic Forums opened in December 2006 to provide a place for the Fametastic community to congregate.

You have to be registered to post on the forums but it’s easy to sign up: just click on the ‘Register’ link at the top left on the forums page and choose a username. A password will then be emailed out to you.

The username and password will work on both the forums and for when you’re commenting on the site itself.

There are four boards in the forum:

You can see the latest discussion across all the boards on the front page of the forum or you can visit each board individually. If you’re starting a new thread of conversation, please to start it on the most relevant discussion board so other visitors know where to find it.

As with just about all forums on the net, please try to be nice to the other people posting - sure, you can have differences of opinion but please try to avoid pointless name calling. We also frown upon racism, sexism, homophobia and all related nastiness such as insulting people because of their nationality or religion.
