It seems like babies are the new “must-have” fashion accessory around Hollywood: Britney and Jennifer Garner have decided to grow their own but Dukes of Hazzard star Jessica Simpson is thinking of following in the footsteps of everyone’s favourite marriage wrecker (um, we just mean “good friend”) Angelina Jolie by adopting a baby.

Twenty-five year old Simpson has had her heart set on adopting a baby from a Mexican orphanage since she was 16 years old: “That’s what I wanted for my birthday but I couldn’t legally get a baby across the Mexican border,” she told The Globe newspaper.

The idea of adopting appeals to kind-hearted Jess because she likes the idea that she’ll “end up doing something which will touch somebody in some way that’s good… through orphanages.” The knowledge that she’ll still be able to slip into her Daisy-Duke hotpants after she’s got her new nipper probably appeals quite a bit too.
