According to D12 bandmate Proof, Eminem will quit performing and go back to being plain old Marshall Mathers when his current tour finishes in September.

Comments by Proof, real name Deshaun Holton, in the Detroit Free Press newspaper have set fan sites alight with speculation. “Em has definitely got to the level where he feels like he’s accomplished everything he can accomplish in rap. .. He wants to kick back and get into the producing thing. Why not bow out while you’re on top?”

Eminem’s spokesmen on either side of the Atlantic were unavailable to comment but his manager, Paul Rosenberg, told the newspaper there was “no official decision” about Eminem’s future.
