Mariah Carey has come out as a big fan of “American Idol” - but not of Simon Cowell.

Carey is rumoured to be replacing Paula Abdul on the judges panel for the hit US show but not if Cowell is going to remain involved.

“I love the talent and all that, but Simon has a real attitude problem and I think he is way too cruel,” Mariah told The Globe.

“I guess other than as a guest, that could rule me out.”
