Janet JacksonJanet Jackson’s recent weighty appearance has been surprising to those of us still craving her abs in the “That’s the way that love goes” era. The New York Times is claiming that she’s put on nearly over three and a half stone in weight over recent months.

However, her partner music producer Jermaine Dupri is claiming it was deliberate, for an “indie role” in a movie set in the Deep South and he’s confident that she’ll make a strong comeback with her new album release in the Spring.

We wish we could blame our weight gain on ‘needing to do it for a film role’ and not just on all those Twiglets we ate last week. We also wish we had such loving excuse-making boyfriends too. Lucky Janet!
