Jane DansonRather than just filming her from the waist up or using similar lame techniques to hide it, Coronation Street writers have decided to include Jane Danson’s real life pregnancy into a storyline on the show.

Jane’s character Leanne Battersby is to use the pregnancy to keep her lover Danny Baldwin (played by Bradley Walsh).

A show insider has revealed: “Leanne, having been the driving force behind Danny’s cruel manipulation of his ailing father Mike Baldwin (Johnny Briggs), figures having a baby will secure her future with Danny. Not to mention a share of his inheritance.”

In real life, Jane is “ecstatic” to be pregnant. She married her partner Robert Beck before Christmas and the growing bump, due in the summer, will be their first child.
