Tess DalyTV presenter Tess Daly has slammed Ulrika Jonsson’s suggestion that she’s rubbish.

Ulrika said Tess was “a good example of the young crowd of pretty useless presenters who are rubbish”.

“I was shocked,” Tess told Arena magazine. “It seems quite spiteful and unnecessarily so. I definitely wouldn’t say I was rubbish at what I do. It takes a certain level of presenter to be able to handle a live TV show and I can do that.”

Tess also took the opportunity to claw back: “I’d hardly call her a Jeremy Paxman. I haven’t seen her on television for a long time.”

She also issued Ulrika with an invitation: “Come and tell me to my face, Ulrika - and we’ll have a little chat about it.”

Yes, a little “chat” indeed.
