Tom Cruise and Katie HolmesThere might have been some surprises at the Oscars but the night before at the Razzies, it was all rather predictable.

The ceremony traditionally celebrates the worst of Hollywood’s output but this year added a “most tiresome tabloid target” category too - and Tom Cruise got two nominations for it.

He won the award for his “antics with fiancee Katie Holmes” but his nomination, for his attacks on psychiatry and anti-depressants, came a close second.

It was the film awards that dominated as usual though. Organisers dubbed 2005 “a very bad year for movies”

Flop “Dirty Love” scooped four awards - worst actress for Jenny McCarthy, worst screenplay, worst director as well as worst film - while Rob Schneider and Paris Hilton also racked up acting “awards”.
