Lindsay Lohan and Jessica Simpson up for Lucy Ewing in Dallas film
Most of the cast has been set for the big screen version of Dallas but apparently Lindsay Lohan and Jessica Simpson are both keen to bag the one of the last key roles - Lucy Ewing, JR’s niece.
Riding the nostalgia wave, the film is sure to be a huge hit and no one wants to miss out: “There are people scratching each other’s eyes out [for roles],” director Robert Luketic has said.
Texan girl Jessica might have the edge over New Yorker Lindsay on the accent but Lindsay’s got a big supporter - Charlene Tilton who played Lucy in the television series.
“They are thinking of casting Lindsay Lohan as Lucy and I’m a fan of hers. I think it is a great choice,” she commented recently.

I hope that Lindsay gets the role because she is a way better actress than Jessica Simpson and has way more experience. Plus Lindasy would fit the parts description more because Lucy Ewing is a teenager and has you all probally know Lindsay Lohans a teenager and Jessica Simpson is not.

I agree with Jamie. I’m really tired of all the TV shows being made into movies, i wish Hollywood could come up with some fresh ideas. But if we must have a “Dallas” movie… despite all of her personal demons, Miss Lohan *is* an actress. Miss Simpson really isn’t. So, unless the “Dallas” producers are interested in “stunt casting”, hopefully Lindsay will be cast. I would certainly be more interested in seeing it! We have all had way, way, way too much of Jessica Simpson the past few years!! (Note to her father/manager!! There is such thing as too much media exposure!)
I see in the article that the author thinks Jessica can ” one up” Lindsay in the accent arena. But i remember being impressed with Lohan’s accent work in “Parent Trap”, and wondering how in the world Jessica, who grew up in Texas, could manage such a HIDEOUS “Southern” accent in “Dukes of Hazzard”!! Like nails on a chalkboard is a bad Southern accent. I’d prefer none to a bad one!
Thanks!

i think the only way to decide this one is naked mud wrestling. in fact, forget the film, just release 90 minutes of that instead.

I think that Jessica Simpson should get the role because she is getting into acting and getting her feet wet and this would be a GREAT opportunity for her to shine as a actress and make a mark in acting for herself. Not to mention she has the southern charm and accent to go along with the movie. It fits perfectly. And Lindsey Lohan clearly would BE OUT OF PLACE in the movie Dallas. It would be a huge mistake to pick Lohan over Jessica

yea b/c js can really she should get the part ……not i may not like lindsay as a person or singer but she can definately act. btw this challenges lindsay b/c shes doing an accent while js if she does the movie she cant challenge herself since shes “southern” and its not acting if the character is identical 2 u
