Brad Pitt and Angelina JolieSo… it didn’t happen then. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt didn’t marry on Lake Como on Saturday as much rumoured last week.

Simona Saladini, the mayor of Cernobbio, a picturesque town on the south-west of the lake, had been told to remain on standby for “possible official functions” in the evening but wouldn’t reveal who had advised her to do so.

She did reveal though that police had been put on alert in the area and a private security firm had been brought in to increase security around George Clooney’s villa.

Crowds gathered on the lakeside in Cernobbio just on the off chance that they’d see some action but it wasn’t to be.

However, there was apparently no sign of the family around their Paris apartment either so perhaps they spent the day bunkered down in front of the television or maybe the Lake Como thing was all just a distracting ruse…
