Tim Burton and Helena Bonham CarterHelena Bonham Carter and husband Tim Burton have bought a new home in Oxfordshire, which was once owned by Helena’s great-great grandfather Herbert Asquith.

Liberal Prime Minister between 1908 and 1916, Herbert used to the house to meet with political contemporaries and his successor as Prime Minister David Lloyd George. It has also been owned by Helena’s grandmother Violet, Baroness Asquith of Yarnbury.

The couple haven’t just bought the house for its history though. An inside source has revealed: “Its eight-and-a-half acre garden borders down a backwater of the River Thames. It’s absolutely gorgeous.

“More importantly for them, when in the house or garden, you can’t see or hear anything from the nearby road - the house has total privacy.”

“Helena and Tim are totally over the moon.”
