Kate BeckinsaleIt looks like Lindsay Lohan might not get her way with her Wonder Woman aspirations: Kate Beckinsale is now leading the running with writer-director Joss Whedon “very happy” with her for the role. Other actresses considered for the role include Mischa Barton, Sarah Michelle Gellar and Charisma Carpenter as well as Lohan.

Kate has previously said she would like a shot at the part: “I dressed up as her last Hallowe’en so it would be good to do it again,” she said last summer.

Last week, Whedon confirmed that filming will start on the movie in early September with the film to be released next year.
