George Clooney and Julia Roberts go green for Vanity Fair
Vanity Fair have got another star-studded cover next month - but this time the theme is a bit more worthwhile than “naked starlets”.
The magazine’s May issue will focus on environmental issues and to illustrate that, George Clooney and Julia Roberts have joined up with green-friendly politicians Al Gore and Robert F Kennedy, with everyone dressed in the colour green. While the men have settled for green shirts and suits, Julia has been decked out in a pretty green gown complete with a leafy crown.
The magazine will include profiles of Hollywood’s greenest stars, including Clooney’s own efforts to raise environmental awareness, particularly around the idea of Peak Oil.

Around the issue of global warming and green space … a lot more needs to be done than just bringing attention. The attention is already there - but like the war, no solutions to a problem some of us won’t admit. Pity that Gore does not explain a link to covert destabilization of “third world” countries rendering them even more widely open to predatory practices of large companies and unable to devise resilient policies to protect themselves re: the environment. These countries are busy crumbling under the weight of outrageous interest rates and conditionality of the IMF and World Bank …
