Uma Thurman is bored with typecasting

Uma Thurman is sick of constantly been cast as a hardened ice queen.

“You are so limited in this business by people’s perceptions, and I know that a lot of people found me cold in the past,” she said recently.

“I’m not alone in that - there are other ice-blonde, blue-eyed Nordic-looking actresses - but these cliches chase you around and it does get a little boring.”

i don’t think she’ll find they’re typecasting her, i think she’ll find she just has limited range.

cast as professional businesswoman; comes off as nordic ice queen.
cast as warm hearted mother; comes off as nordic ice queen.
cast as jolly mrs santa claus; comes off as elf-hating nordic ice queen.

i’m still in therapy over her role as poison ivy in the batman film. shudders.

Uma has not been constantly cast as an ice queen. Her roles have been diverse and she has played each of them convincingly, and often with a level of warmth rarely seen in many brunettes–or red heads for that matter.
