Calista FlockhartCalista Flockhart has admitted for the first time that she had an eating disorder while she starred as super-skinny Ally McBeal in the late 1990s.

She had previous blamed her thinness on “tiny bones” but now she’s admitted she was not eating properly.

“At the time of all that, I was seriously stressed,” she has said, according to the Mirror.

“I was working 15-hour days on the set and then I was dealing with the end of the show, which was basically my life.”

“I started under-eating, over-exercising, pushing myself too hard and brutalising my immune system. I guess I just didn’t find the time to eat.”

Calista dropped to under seven stone and collapsed on the set of the television show in 1999.

“I am much more healthy these days,” she added though.
