Gail PorterGail Porter has revealed that her hair will never grow back. She lost her locks last autumn because of stress-induced alopecia related to depression but now doctors have confirmed that it’ll be a permanent condition.

At first, on hearing the news, Gail was worried that her “daughter Honey will never remember me ever having hair” but Holly doesn’t seem to mind: “I take her to school and she yells ‘Hey everybody - you can slap my mum’s head if you want!’ The other mums look mortified but I don’t mind.”

While she’s admitted her hair loss has been a “nightmare”, she’s getting more used to the idea now.

“The more I see myself bald the more I can handle it. I’m still me at the end of the day. You just have to get a little bit of extra confidence. Sometimes when I get dressed I look like someone that walked off Star Trek.”

“I feel like I should be popping on little pointy ears and a space suit.”

She does, however, get jealous of other people’s hair: “I saw a woman brushing her hair in the street the other day and wanted to shout, ‘Stop showing off’.”
