Julia Roberts needed a lot of persuasion to return to acting after having children
Director Joe Mantello begged Julia Roberts to make her Broadway debut in his play Three Days of Rain.
Julia had been taking a break from acting after to the birth of her twins, Phinneaus and Hazel, in 2004 and was very much enjoying being a mother.
“I needed an exemplary reason to leave the house,” she told the New York Post recently.
“My family is very fulfilling and interesting to me. And for me to step away from that for any period of time, I was going to have to do something that was really different and challenging.”
“Joe really lured me into this. It’s one of his favourite plays. We had a long conversation about it, and he made it all seem so vibrant and exciting.”
