Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes have a baby girl
Yes, it’s finally happened: Katie Holmes has finally given birth to her first child with Tom Cruise.
Their daughter, named Suri, was born on Tuesday in an “LA-area hospital”, according to People magazine and weighed 7lbs 7oz on arrival.
In a statement issued on behalf of the new parents, they have “joyously welcomed” the arrival and “both mother and daughter are doing well.”
The spokesperson for the couple also explained the origins of baby Suri’s name: it has meanings in Hebrew and Persian, meaning “princess” and “red rose” respectively.

dang, i lose my bet that they were going to fake it until MIssion Impossible 3’s release day.
but then again, that might distratc them from the publicity for that - now they can show off the new baby at the premiere…
