Pete DohertyJudge Jane McIvor must be a big fan of the Babyshambles - she’s spared Pete Doherty from another jail term.

Pete appeared at Thames Magistrates Court today to receive sentencing after pleading guilty to seven account of drugs possession. He was arrested in December while carrying heroin, crack cocaine, cannabis resin and cannabis, and in January with heroin, crack cocaine and cannabis.

He received a two-year supervision order, a six-month driving ban and given 18 months in drug rehabilitation - but once again, could face jail if he breaks the supervision order.

Judge McIvor explained the non-custodial sentence reflected “significant signs of compliance and effort” on his behalf and recognised that “it is going to be a long and slow process.”
