Nicole KidmanNicole Kidman has issued a short statement of congratulations to Katie Holmes over the birth of her daughter, Suri - but didn’t mention ex-husband Tom Cruise at all.

Through her publicist, Nicole simply said: “I hope both mother and baby are doing well.”

Nicole and Tom had reportedly argued about arrangements for the birth: Tom wanted their children Isabella and Connor to be present when Katie gave birth but Nicole apparently refused, worried that it would traumatise the youngsters.
