Tom Cruise to attend European premieres after all

Katie Holmes has urged fiance Tom Cruise to continue with the European promotional tour for Mission: Impossible III. The actor pulled out of the European premieres after the birth of their daughter, Suri, last week.

Speaking at a press conference at the world premiere of the film in Rome yesterday, Tom said it was a last minute decision to attend.

“My own Mission: Impossible was getting here. That was the Mission Impossible. Because it kept going back and forth.”

“I wasn’t going to come and then Kate said, you know, ‘Go. Go.’ So I’m here.”

“My daughter has just been born and I want to be close to her. I thought about not coming to Rome, but Kate said go and have fun.”

He originally planned to just stay in Europe for yesterday’s premiere “then I’ll get back on an airplane and go back home to Kate and Suri” but the BBC is reporting that he’s now planning to attend the London and Paris premieres too.

“We discussed it. She said ‘You know, things change’,” he said about the change of heart.

“I realise the fans are going to be there in London and Paris and, you know, everything is cool.”

The London event will take place at Odeon Leicester Square this evening.
