Michelle RodriguezMichelle Rodriguez has chosen to spend five days in jail rather than working 240 hours of community service after pleading guilty to a drink-driving offence in Hawaii.

The Lost star was arrested in December when police officers spotted her driving strangely along a freeway on the island. She first insisted she was not guilty but later changed her plea.

She was given a day to get her affairs in order after sentencing yesterday and will be transported to a women’s prison today.

However, she might find herself behind bars for longer if Los Angeles officials decide this offence violated her probation order after a similar charge in 2004. She will find out their decision at a hearing next week and faces up to 16 months in prison is found guilty.
