you have to give pete a chance, although he is caught up in the drug scene which rock star hasnt at least had a run with addiction? although he may be doing hard drugs everyday, he must be liking it enough. and maybe people should stop being so narrowminded and prejudice against pete and any other “junkie”.

I’m quite impressed that the judge has suggested treatment rather than prison - it’s not like he’s having to beat up old ladies to fund his habit so there is no point jailing him over it.

Despite the fact that this girl may have been a regular user of the drug herself, there is absolutely no way that his behaviour can be excused simply cos he is in a band and is HOT (as some of you think, i beg to differ). That girl could have easily died and what would we do then? Cry with him? He has enough money to get proper help unlike other nfrotunate addicts who inject themselves on the side of the road. Also, these images were images that were stolen from his flat and were infact staged photos for some sort of video they were producing. I would like it if people got their facts right before jumping to conclusions. Pete Doherty is not a ‘rebellious rockstar” and definately not a ‘troublemaker”. If anyone here were a real fan of Pete Doherty, you would all join together to ask him to get some help before it’s too late. Want more music? Feel ya care what happens to this guy? Maybe if enough people tell him he’s s******g up, maybe one day he’ll have a moment of clarity and agree. Some may laugh at these words, or have some other point of view when it comes to drugs, but there have been so many warning signs right in the faces of the fans and those who really want Pete to live to a good, old, age. I want to be able to one day hear the good music his kid might make one day, but at the rate Pete’s goin’, his future doesn’t look much brighter than the cover of Rolling Stone magazine with a birth and death date on it. If I could say anything to Pete directly, I’d ask him to get some help, and stick to it this time. It’s actually not better to burn out rather than fading away, the chances you get are only so many. Say what you will about my comment, I can take it, but mark my words, and remember them when the time comes. Whatta waste if it turns out to be so.

I worked in the music industry for years, now retired from it, I’ve seen alot of good people go too soon. Some I could have said something to, but didn’t, to this day I still see their faces, hear their laughs, and remember their jokes. Above all, I remembering the times when I had a chance to say “why don’t you do something to get some help? I’ll help you.” But instead, I kept quiet, not wanting to offend my friend or ruin their good mood for the day. Now they’re gone, no more days at all, and no more opportunities for me to finally speak up and try to be the good friend I should have. It’s real, making excuses for them, or not saying anything at all, is the same as saying it’s alright, that they’re not out of control or on the brink of killing themselves. We all laugh at their antics, their funny jokes and saying that would spring up out of nowhere, their “I can handle it” attitude almost has us all convinced, until the one day when we get that phonecall, or see that news report, or read that magazine article, then the truth smacks us in the face… hard.

Please pardon my rant, do and say as you will, I know you will anyhow. I would have when I was younger.
