The rumours reached a fever pitch when Reese won this year’s Oscar for Best Actress with suggestions that Ryan is jealous of his wife’s success.

Reese said recently: “It’s sad to see that when you’re honest and talk about the normal ups and downs that it gets taken out of context [by the media].”

“Ryan and I have a great marriage. I see him as not only my husband, but my best friend.”
