Matt Damon and wife Luciana BarrosoMatt Damon is apparently following his old friend Ben Affleck down the doting dad path.

Matt’s wife Luciana is due to give birth to his first child, a baby girl, in the next few weeks: “We’re due in mid-June, but who knows? We could be now,” he gushed recently.

He’s just glad that it’s a baby girl because his 8 year old step-daughter Alexia didn’t want a baby brother: “Believe me, if it was a boy it would have been a big problem. She wasn’t having it. She definitely wanted a sister.”

Matt’s new tot will be just six months younger than Violet, Ben Affleck’s daughter with wife Jennifer Garner, and Matt hopes the two will be friends: “Yeah, they will have playdates. All we have to do is end up living in the same city!”
