Winona Ryder still publicity shy after conviction, reveals co-star Keanu Reeves
Keanu Reeves has revealed that Winona Ryder is still too traumatised by her shoplifting conviction four years ago to help promote their new film A Scanner Darkly at the Cannes Film Festival.
Keanu explained: “[Co-star Robert Downey Jr] and I were speaking of how we miss her and wish she was here because she’s such a delightful person and really good actress.”
“But, for her to be here and have to deal with all these other kinds of questions - I don’t know if she’s quite ready to do that.”
Winona has avoided the public eye since being found guilty of stealing accessories from a Beverly Hills department store.
