Britney Spears defends her marriage and parenting skills
Britney Spears has recorded an emotional interview with Matt Lauer in which she discusses her marriage and her parenting skills.
In the interview, Britney complains about the paparazzi and tabloid media’s endless hounding of her and her family: “They’ve crossed the line a little bit … they like to have the person they pick on, I feel like I’m a target.”
Britney also took the opportunity to stress that she is “a good mom”, despite recent incidents in the public eye. She particularly focused on being photographed driving with son Sean on her knee: “I can’t go anywhere without someone judging me…I did it with my dad. I’d sit on his lap and I’d drive. We’re country.”
Britney also addressed the rumours about her “awesome” marriage to Kevin Federline. She denied any problems and reports that Kevin is living in the basement of their home: “[Kevin] helps me. He has to. I’m [an] emotional wreck right now.”
She said she doesn’t know if people - or the media - are rooting for her marriage to end, but “if they are that’s sad. I think everybody should be ‘pro love.’”
The interview will be broadcast on both NBC’s Today and Dateline shows on Thursday 15 June.
Do you think Katie Price's marriage to Alex Reid will last?
