Geri Halliwell with daughter Bluebell Madonna HalliwellGeri Halliwell is reportedly set to ask fellow former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham to be godmother to Geri’s new baby Bluebell Madonna Halliwell.

Geri’s pregnancy encouraged the pair to put old disagreements behind them and Geri has told friends that the offer is to thank Victoria for being “like a sister” on the run-up to Bluebell’s birth.

A close source told the Daily Mirror: “Geri is notoriously selective about the people she has around her - and as a result she doesn’t have many friends. Victoria is probably one of the few people who is close to Geri.

“They have been through thick and thin together and the bond between them is stronger than ever. She was like a sister to her when she was pregnant.”

“Geri is passionate about having strong role models, especially female ones, in her daughter’s life. And who better than Victoria?”

Geri might have an ulterior motive though - to boost Bluebell’s designer wardrobe: “Geri is acutely aware that Victoria wants a little girl. She sees how much she dotes on her nieces, Liberty and Tallulah May. She’s always eyeing up dresses and outfits for baby girls and now she’ll have another excuse to buy them.”
