Jack BlackJack Black has admitted it was the fear of formal wedding that caused him to elope with now-wife Tanya Haden. The couple married in March and welcomed their first child, a son, into the world last weekend.

Jack revealed: “The big wedding, that just gave me goose pimples of fear. Just the idea of seating charts and family politics.”

“We just went up north to Big Sur, a beautiful place in California called The Post Ranch Inn.”

“There’s this woman who performed the ceremony, a holy woman named Soaring - I guess she was a child of the 1960s, with a name like ‘Soaring’. It wasn’t like a traditional religious ceremony and she had a lot of soothing spiritual things to say.”

“But then we had a big party - it’s so much easier!”
