Kate BeckinsaleKate Beckinsale loved being able to play a mum in her new film Click because she had already done the research required - by having a seven year old daughter of her own.

Kate missed out on a previous mum-role because the producers didn’t think she looked old enough: “They asked me to do The Ring then took it back, saying I didn’t look like a mother with a child when, of course, I am a mother with a child and Naomi Watts [who got the role instead] isn’t.”

“Playing a mother was one of the things that was attractive to me in terms of method acting.”

“This is what I’ve been studying for the last several years.”

“Much as it’s flattering for people to say to me ‘you look too young to have children’, I know what I’m doing. It’s great!”
