Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban wedding photoMore details have emerged about the reception after Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban’s wedding yesterday and unsurprisingly, it sounds like it was a lavish affair.

The flowers for both the ceremony and the reception were designed by Nicole’s favourite Sydney florist, Saskia Havekes and were later given to Sydney Children’s Hospital.

The dinner menu started with salad and pumpkin ravioli, then there was a choice of fillet of beef or Tasmanian salmon for the main course, with a raspberry mascarpone cake for dessert. Australian wine accompanied the meal.

Nicole’s mum Janelle gave a short speech at dinner followed by Keith’s father Bob, who nervously gave his first public speech ever.

The couple’s first dance was a waltz, serenaded by the Sydney Symphony Orchestra and Keith also sang Nicole a specially-written love song: he apparently walked on the stage unannounced with his guitar and performed the song by himself. One of the wedding guests, journalist Jessica Rowe commented: “I don’t think there was a dry eye in the house. [Nicole] cried, everyone cried.”

Jessica added about the event in general: “It was sensational, it was so beautiful, I felt privileged to be there. I thought Nicole looked absolutely stunning. She looked ethereal.”

The couple released an official photo and a joint statement: “We just want to thank everyone in Australia and around the world who have sent us their warm wishes.”
