  • Despite much interest in her interview with Matt Lauer earlier in the month, Britney Spears has had problems selling subsequent photographs and an exclusive interview to magazines. Britney offered the deal for £100,000 but according the the New York Post: “there were no takers. OK! finally bought the shots and the interview for a measly £5,000.” A spokesperson at OK! confirmed the deal and commented: “Who doesn’t love a discount?”
  • Rod Stewart and Penny Lancaster christened their baby son Alistair in Scotland yesterday. The event took place close to Rod father’s birthplace in Edinburgh and Rod wore a Stewart family tartan kilt for the service. Afterwards he commented: “The ceremony was wonderful. Penny and I were brought to tears.” Rod and Penny have revealed plans to marry next year.
  • After debuting in animated comedy Over the Hedge for her first movie role, Avril Lavigne is hoping she can move into drama to follow in her idols’ footsteps: “I really admire Winona and Angelina, so those actress are the ones I’d love to emulate in serious drama roles. I’d like to do something dark and complicated. It would be like some of my music, and it would be another way for me to express myself.”
