Pete DohertyPete Doherty has revealed he’s making a special effort to beat his drug addition.

In a tv interview with Jonathan Ross to be broadcast on Friday, he says: “Trying to stop? Yes, absolutely. Being skint, drunk, paranoid, no, I don’t wish that for myself.”

“Being clean means I can sit down and rediscover writing. My songwriting suffered, being on drugs.”

“F***ing yourself over isn’t romantic, neither is being in jail. Being in jail was the cleanest I found myself.”

He also revealed that his relationship with Kate Moss isn’t entirely over but he thinks Kate wants to move on: “It’s right and wrong, up and down. She’s had enough, I think. I love her bones, I always will.”

Pete also discusses his time with the Libertines and performs an acoustic version of his song ‘Beg, Steal or Borrow’ on the show.
