Lily Allen slams The Pussycat Dolls as bad role models

Lily Allen is not a fan of The Pussycat Dolls because she thinks they’re bad role models for young girls.

Currently at number 1 in the UK charts with her debut single ‘Smile’, Lily said: “I’ve got a really big problem with the Pussycat Dolls, because I think they’re a really bad role model for little girls.”

“They’re too skinny, takes all their clothes off, don’t say anything, promote womanising and look like lapdancers as far as I’m concerned.”

“It’s a really bad message to be sending young women.”

“And not just for young women - but for young men. For them to believe that that’s what women are like in real life in such a hideous concept to sell to people. It’s just terrible”.

Of course its up to every individual what they like and dislike, I am certain there is a drug for everyone out there, everyone could like the effect of a certain drug cause there is such a large variety out there. I totally agree with Lily Allen on this. The Pussycat Dolls do look like strippers, they cannot sing and if they can only one of them does anyway. Anyone remember that scene in Mean Girls where that little girl is dancing like a stripper in front on mtv? That is what the pussycat dolls promote.
The Pussycat Dolls are actually originally a burlesque act from America, this is NOT meant for 10 year old girls to copy.
As far as Lily being ‘probebly just jealous’, why would anyone be jealous of a load of plastic? Lily Allen has her own style and is a great role model as she has overcome her shady past and gone on to make great music that others love.
I have always disliked the Pussycat Dolls, with lyrics like ’don’t you wish your girlfriend was hot like me’, this is not the stuff for young girls to look up to and aspire to.
As far as the claims that all Lily does is drink and take drugs all the time can I remind you that even if this is true this is a woman we’re talking about, she can drink whenever the hell she likes, and why believe everything you read in the papers anyway?
The Pussycat Dolls are so unoriginal, bland, boring and skinny why would any young girl want to be like them is beyond me.
Lily Allen is vibrant, original, fun and gorgeous, and shows that girls do not have to be a size 4-6 to be attractive, nor do they have to sell their bodies and dance in their underwear.

Lily as usual is spot on. The “pussy” cat dolls are all about sex, and a version of sex which just isn’t realistic. My 8 year old niece sings along to their songs and it makes me feel ill. They are just singing breasts and vaginas- no reality.

I’m actually a big fan of both Lily Allen and PCD. I think they both make great pop music but obviously they both stand for something different. Lily Allen represents freedom of speech, not being afraid to mix up different styles etc. To me PCD represent being confident as a woman and that there is nothing wrong with a woman being sexy. And about the drugs: She was FIFTEEN. Big deal. Bringing up something that happened when she was a teenager hardly reflects on her now. Sh has her own unique style and I think is very pretty. Lily Allen, I really really really used to like you, I even got your album but you’re showing your immaturity saying in public whatever you think about The Pussycat Dolls. Girl, you’re almost new in the industry to be saying stuff like that to PCD and Victoria Beckham and other people. That’s a big turn off.

Sorry but The Dolls don’t look skinny to me. Have you seen them, Lily? They are all fit, not one of them looked like Nicole Richie when she had that eating disorder. Also Lily, have you ever heard of the burlesque style? I know you do not appreciate that kind of style and stick with your songs that stays on low notes. PCD became popular because they bring something new to the table, unlike you, after buying your album and listening to 4 songs straight, your voice feels like annoying bells in my ears. You do not appreciate and understand the style and the message they’re trying to send.

Nicole Scherzinger is such an amazing singer, much more amazing than you and can belt out higher notes than you do. Melody Thornton can beat you in whatever song you prefer. You can’t sing dance tracks like Jessica Sutta, you can’t dance like Kimberly Wyatt and hit it out like Jane Child and you cannot have Ashley Roberts’ very sweet and soft voice.

I know that the Pussycat dolls are bad role models and all, but the make really good songs. I think that they should take it down a few notches on the stripping and all that. They are sending out bad messages to young girls and men about that kind of stuff. But oh well. That’s their style. If they want to strip down, then that’s their problem. If they want to change their style then let them. But it’s none of our business. Let them handle it.
