Katie Holmes’ parents will not attend daughter’s Scientology wedding to Tom Cruise
Life & Style Weekly is reporting that Katie Holmes‘ parents are set to boycott her wedding to Tom Cruise this summer.
Tom and Katie are rumoured to be marrying later this month or next month in a Scientology ceremony performed by Church leader David Miscavige but devote Catholics Martin and Kathleen Holmes will not be in attendance, according to a friend quoted in the magazine.
Her parents are apparently “not happy” about their daughter’s “choice of where to marry” with Martin reportedly telling the friend: “Katie can have a proper Catholic wedding her whole family will gladly be a part of.”
The friend went on to reveal that Katie initially wanted a Catholic wedding too but “realized she’d never win the argument about having a Catholic wedding”.
“She knows that if she had rejected Scientology, her relationship with Tom could’ve ended. [Now, she] has become a big part of the church. She is into it in a big way.”

According to a piece in the Salt Lake News, Tom Cruise was secretly baptised into the mormon church some years ago, after taking the six LDS missionary lessons while on the set of Interview With A Vampire. Reportedly, one can be a devout Scientologist, while maintaining active membership in any other religion. The couple plan to become married [”sealed”] in the Los Angeles LDS temple, and will then attend a lavish official wedding reception at the Scientology center, conducted by the organization’s leader David Miscavige. Who also happens to be a very committed follower of the Kabala religion.
Oddly enough, one of the reported guests of honor will be Hugh Hefner. Tom’s strong beliefs in basic LDS doctrines, such as plural marriage, was a major factor in his divorce from Nicole Kidman. Apparently, the actor still believes that he will be married to Mimi Rogers throughout all eternity. Which is what that threesome sex scene in the furniture store was all about in her Christian born-again movie, The Rapture.
