A fight nearly cost Mickey Rourke his Hollywood career

Mickey Rourke has revealed punching a drug dealer lost in him role in a major Hollywood movie and nearly cost him his career.

During a lull in his film career in the early 1990s, Mickey became a professional boxer but is currently enjoying a career comeback in the likes of Domino and Sin City.

But when Mickey got angry after finding out a local dealer was supplying his now ex-wife with heroin, he resorted to his previous fighting skills: “I found this dude that had been giving my lady drugs. Where I’m from, if somebody is giving my wife heroin, you bet your ass I’m going to take a pop at him.”

“I punched him - one punch and I gave him concussion.”

“And I’m thinking, ‘Oh sh*t. I went for that movie the other day.’ I call my agent and he says, ‘You are out of the picture and you may never f**king work again.’.”
