Lionel Richie: gossip about Nicole’s weight hurts me more than her

Lionel Richie has revealed that talk of his daughter Nicole’s weight problem “hurts me more than it hurts her”.

He told Access Hollywood: “I’m more sensitive. I take it more so personal… I must tell you, I’m the basket case.”

Lionel first spoke publicly about Nicole’s weight in a recent interview with Vanity Fair, where he said she was “too thin right now” and was getting treatment to gain weight.

He believes he’s doing the right thing by talking about it: “what are fathers for if you can’t point the finger every once in a while?”

“The good part of it is she is aware of it… She has heard this all her life from me so this is just a continuation of the reminder.”
