Lionel RichieNicole Richie is set to star in the video for her dad Lionel Richie’s new single - but Lionel didn’t think of her at first.

He explained recently: “We were looking for a Hollywood-type personality for the starring role.”

“We kept talking about who would be MTV-friendly, and [music executive] La Reid called me and said, ‘What are we doing? She’s in your house!’”

Nicole shot the video for ‘I Call It Love’ in Los Angeles last month but it wasn’t a new experience for her - although it has been a while since she appeared in one of her dad’s videos.

She said: “I was in my dad’s videos for ‘Love, Oh Love’ [in 1992) and ‘Ballerina Girl’ [1986], so this is fun!”
