Christina Aguilera: US Army bases filled with domestic abuse
Christina Aguilera has claimed that homes on US Army bases are rife with domestic abuse.
As her dad was a sergeant in the army, Christina lived on bases until her parents split when she was seven years old.
She told USA Weekend magazine: “We lived on Army bases when I was little, and it [domestic violence] was happening a lot.”
“The [military police] would come, but a lot of them were doing the same things [to their wives and kids].”
“I was surrounded with domestic violence, not only in my home but my friends’.”
Christina believes it’s important to highlight the issue to get it into the open and for herself, “it’s therapeutic for me to talk about it. It gives me a reason to understand why I went through what I did”.

I’m so happy that Mrs. Bratman is speaking out about this. I can’t believe that it’s the 21st Century and people are still squeemish in regards to talking about Domestic Violence. I’m also appalled that it’s still believed that a woman in a Domestic Violence situation think that she can just walk away from the it.
