Jennifer Aniston and Vince VaughnA rumour row has broken out in Hollywood after Us Weekly ran with a headline that Vince Vaughn and Jennifer Aniston have got engaged.

The magazine is reporting that Vince wanted to propose during a holiday in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico in June but lost his nerve so ended up popping the question on their private jet on the way home instead.

A source apparently close to the pair revealed: “He wanted to ask before the jet landed. She accepted straight away.”

The magazine went on to reveal that the couple were to take inspiration from the proposal and want to have a beach wedding in Mexico.

However, Jennifer’s spokesperson Stephen Huvane has strongly denied the story, saying Janice Min, the editor of Us Weekly, “is wrong. There is no engagement.”

Janice appeared on Today to defend the story yesterday and the magazine’s executive editor Ken Baker appeared on Access Hollywood last night to do the same: “You’re only as good as your sources and I would just ask [Stephen] to check his sources. They are engaged, they are getting married and they are as happy as they’ve ever been.”

Of course though, this might all be academic since Life & Style magazine reported they split up last week anyway…
