The Darkness’ Justin Hawkins enters The Priory for “rest”
The Darkness frontman Justin Hawkins has checked himself into the The Priory for “rest and recuperation”.
The band pulled out from playing at a Danish music festival last week on the orders of Justin’s doctor. A statement was posted on the band’s website from the doctor saying: “It is of paramount importance that [Justin] rests and recuperates over the next two weeks. I have advised him to cancel all work-related activities.”
A source told the Mirror: “Justin’s been feeling really low of late and he wanted to go somewhere he could clear his head.”
“He’s been looking terrible at the moment. His skin’s taken on a weird yellowy pallor. The Priory really is the best place for him.”
Justin has been accused of having a cocaine addiction by former Darkness bassist Frankie Poullain and has also admitted eating disorders in the past.
The band shot to fame in 2003 but their last album, ‘One Way Ticket To Hell … And Back’ failed to make an impact on the charts and record label Warners is rumoured to be considered to be dropping in them after the disappointing sales.
