  • When it comes to designing her stage look, Beyoncé Knowles has told Boyz magazine that she’s a “frustrated drag queen” at heart: “The more hair and the more lashes, the better”.
  • Celebrity Big Brother star Chantelle Houghton doesn’t think Big Brother couple Pete and Nikki should be following her and Preston down the aisle any time soon because she doesn’t think they’re a good match. She told OK magazine: “It’s a weird love story. I think they’re a world apart and I can’t imagine what they are going to talk about after Big Brother. Pete is into his bondage and I can’t imagine Nikki is into that. But they do say opposites attract.”
  • Zooey Deschanel has been picked to play Janis Joplin in the forthcoming biopic about the singer after director Penelope Spheeris’ first choice, Pink, pulled out. Pink dropped the project after accusing the producers of turning the casting into “some circus pop contest - who’s the ‘it’ girl who wants to play Janis”. Lindsay Lohan, Britney Spears and Scarlett Johansson were all thought to have been vying for the role.
