Meg Matthews checks herself into clinic to fight depression

Meg Matthews has checked herself in to a private clinic to try to beat depression and get some rest.

Meg left her daughter with ex-husband Noel Gallagher, Anais, with Noel’s mum Peggy when she entered the Charter Nightingale Clinic in North London a fortnight ago.

Meg realised she needed help for her illness while on holiday in Ibiza. A friend told the Mirror: “Meg reached rock bottom in Ibiza. After one heavy night out, she knew she needed to get help.”

“Since she and Noel split she hasn’t found lasting love. But she’s taking control now and is determined to turn over a new leaf.”

“She has also seen [friend Kate Moss] come through rehab, so she knows she can do it, too.”

Meg’s spokesperson JJ Murray-Leach has confirmed that Meg “is receiving treatment at the Nightingale. She is suffering from depression and needed time out. She subsequently made arrangements with Peggy to look after her daughter in this difficult time.”
