Chantelle Houghton and Samuel PrestonAll the celebrities are doing it these days - you either have the wedding on one day and the party on the next or get married more than once (a la Pamela Anderson and Kid Rock) - and Celebrity Big Brother lovebirds Chantelle Houghton and Samuel Preston went for the latter.

The couple were formally married at 11am in Dartmouth House but then held a second service in neighbouring Chesterfield Hotel in the afternoon as part of their £300,000 magazine deal.

But Chantelle was late for the afternoon ceremony - to such an extent that Preston turned around and, jokingly, told the congregation - made up of 50 family and friends - to boo her when she did finally arrive.

After the second ceremony, the guests sat down to a gourmet meal of fish and chips - wrapped in newspaper. Chantelle’s father, Alan explained: “They’re the kind of couple that like to poke fun at themselves. The fish and chips was their way of saying they’re just ordinary people.”

Alan also told the Sunday Mirror: “To see your daughter that happy on her wedding day is one of the best feelings in the world. I can hardly tell you how happy I was.”

Preston was equally gushing about his bride during his speech, saying: “I knew deep down that I was in love with Chantelle and that this day would come. She is my one true love.”

Chantelle wore an off the shoulder ivory dress, designed by Elizabeth Emanuel, and had her newly brown hair styled in a mass of curls: the exclusive pictures of the event will be printed in OK magazine.

The couple are honeymooning in Marrakesh, Morocco.
