Pete Doherty evicted from home after not paying rent
It’s perhaps a good job that Pete Doherty is currently staying at The Priory and potentially facing a prison sentence - he’s being evicted from his Hackney home after non-payment of rent.
According to the Mirror, Pete reportedly owes more than £10,000 in rent after he ceased payments in January and now his landlord has a court order to evict Pete on Tuesday - the day after Pete is due to appear in court for his recent drugs-charges sentencing.
His landlord, Andreas Panayiotou, called Pete the “worst tenant in his company’s entire history”: “As well as not paying his rent, there’s both graffiti and blood on the wall, and goodness knows what else. We have never known anyone like him.”
Other residents in the block of flats complained: “there were the groupies hanging around on the doorstep and his junkie pals banging on his door at all hours and the endless, headbanging racket. We are glad he’s going.”
The flat’s letting agent told the newspaper: “We dread to think how much it will cost for us to clear all this up. But you can rest assured we will be sure to pass the full cost on to Pete.”
