Russell Brand and his BBC Radio 6 co-presenters Trevor Lock and Matt Morgan all face DNA tests after a woman claimed to have been drugged and raped at a party at Russell’s Edinburgh flat.

Russell threw the party to celebrate the end of his stand-up show at the Edinburgh Festival and the woman was one of several people invited to attend.

According to a police statement, “she said she remembers having a drink but nothing after that. She woke next morning and felt very uncomfortable, as if she had had sex.”

“A friend persuaded her to go to hospital. After she was examined, staff advised her to contact police. We are awaiting DNA test results.”

All of the men present at the party will be asked to provide a DNA sample to help with police investigations.
