Penny LancasterModel-turned-photographer Penny Lancaster made it into a family affair when she went to photography Elton John with his dog for a PDSA charity calendar “Pet Pawtraits”.

Penny told Hello magazine: “I was so nervous before the Elton John shoot. I’ve met him a few times and he’s always been really sweet and nice. But he’s just this huge icon - I mean, he’s one of the biggest legends.

“I was so apprehensive about it I had to ask [fiance Rod Stewart] to come with me for support.”

And because her son with Rod, 9 month old Alastair, was still breastfeeding at the time, he had to come along too: “I was still breastfeeding and needed to take breaks to feed him. I also brought my mum along to hold him when I was taking the shots.”
